Dear Future Workforce

Read Lessons 1 and 2 here.

Lesson Number Three: Stop looking for the “right” answer. There may be no right answer. Sometimes, there may be two or three right answers or good enough answers. There may be a couple of bad answers, but you might have to pick one anyway. Unlike on your Scantron test, answers will not always be clear-cut.

Sometimes the right answer at the time turns out to be not so good. Sometimes the choice you make reluctantly turns out better than you could have imagined. There’s no script, no answer key. You make a choice, fall down, learn, and try again later. In life, your grade doesn’t matter; all that matters is what you learned.

Being a rookie isn’t a bad thing if you learn to think your way through problems. Listen well, ask great questions, and don’t stop at the first easy answer that comes up. Those habits will be the ones that serve you well over a lifetime – even after you become an expert yourself.Ready to join the workforce? View our available jobs >>
