Every third Monday in January, Americans come together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a man whose unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and service transformed the course of history. While it’s easy to think of this federal holiday as a day off from work or school, its true spirit calls for something much deeper—a day on. The Legacy of Service Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” This question challenges each of us to reflect on how we contribute to the world around us.
