CSI sweeps Lung Force 5K and raises over $3900

Julie Stackhouse is a key player in making CSI the fit, healthy, and athletic company it is today. Stackhouse, a Brooks sponsored athlete, has won over 25 individual races and sets personal bests in every distance from the mile to the marathon. She is committed to challenging all CSI employees to reach their full athletic potential and the involvement of community events such as 5K’s.

Our Jacksonville team recently participated in the Lung Force 5k to raise awareness and funds to defeat lung cancer, the #1 cancer killer of women. Many employees and friends of CSI were motivated to support lung health and research because of personal connections, experiences, and the friendly competition in our annual fundraiser. Coin Wars, CSI’s primary Lung Force fundraiser, was created to stir-up a friendly competition between divisions and departments by raising the most loose-change in each team. What’s the best way to win? Adding money bills into the opposing team’s jar that deducts hundreds of points. This event raised double the amount it had in the past two years! This year, $3,928 was raised in funds compared to $1,273 in 2016 and $1,398 in 2015.

Not only was CSI committed to supporting the Lung Force’s mission but they were also determined to win. Kate Mays, president of CSI’s Healthcare IT division, came in third place overall for the women’s group. Brad Butler, a top Healthcare IT recruiter, was the first CSI male runner to cross the finish line. Several other CSI athletes placed first in their age group, and others made new personal records. Through the extreme heat and humidity, CSI took home the Fastest Team award and proudly accepted the best-dressed team award for the 4th-consecutive year.

CSI is proud of the hard work and dedication its employees show to each of our CSI Gives Back programs. We are beyond grateful for our coach, Julie Stackhouse, as she continues to help everyone (including CSI employees) to cross the finish line.

Together, we’re a FORCE to be reckoned with! Congrats CSI!
